His Dream, His Fear, His Nightmare

It filled his heart with panic.  His limbs were numb.  His mind was clouded with the emotion.  Fear consumed his whole being as a light that reflected images clearly even on his dark eyes exploded.  The blue radiance came closer and closer until…..

Rex gasped, bolting up on his bed.  A cold sweat was trickling down his skin as his body shook.  The fog in his head gradually disappeared as he became aware of his surroundings.  In the middle of the night, everyone but him was asleep.  Bobo Haha was snoozing soundly on the hammock just a few feet away from him.  Even to his sensitive monkey ears, the talking simian had no clue that his friend had just escaped a nightmare.  The 15-yr-old had long ago learned not to awaken anyone every night he had that dream.

This strange memory that he always dreamt ever since the beginning of five years ago had once again faded away, leaving Rex with a deep sense of fear and despair.  Looking at the black outline of his hand in the near complete darkness of his room, he clenched his fist, trying to remind himself that he'd be able to find out about his past and then some.  But now it was time to get some sleep that even Agent Six should be getting.  The ninja nanny was probably catnapping with his eyes open.  Snorting silently at the thought, he remembered all those times he tried to catch the sixth deadliest man on the planet in the act or take his ever-present sunglasses off to see if he even had eyes.  Relaxing, Rex lay back in bed to awake again for another day of Evo butt-kicking action.
